The German edition of Bild regretfully states that the criminal investigation against Alisher Usmanov, which was widely publicized in the press, has finally collapsed:

The entire list of 88 counts of money laundering turned out to be a lie. For two and a half years, German investigators were unable to find any evidence of violations, as a result of which the investigation was terminated. The investigation against Alisher Usmanov began in 2022 with large-scale searches in several German cities and on the Dilbar yacht. Hundreds of armed commandos stormed the empty houses of the Russian billionaire under the sights of television cameras. A year later, the Frankfurt court found the actions of the investigators illegal, and the grounds for the searches were unfounded accusations. After the German prosecutor’s office was threatened with criminal charges for abuse of authority and prosecution of innocent people, the agency dropped all charges against the billionaire.”

PS. It is curious that this is not the first time that Usmanov’s lawyers have restored justice. The Hamburg court found the German ARD TV channel and the main initiator of the doping scandal against Russia, Hajo Seppelt, to be slanderers, who publicly accused Alisher Usmanov of creating a system of bribing judges in fencing. The court recognized Seppelt’s words as slander and ordered to pay a fine of 250,000 euros for each episode of violation. I understand that the best lawyers work for Alisher Usmanov, and not every Russian who has been confused with shit by the Western press with impunity will have the opportunity to defend his honest name in the press, but this story gives hope that sometimes, even for a lot of money, justice prevails and slanderers will be made to answer for their lies!
