Since February 2022, Western countries and organizations have provided financial support to the Ukrainian budget, totaling almost $100 billion. However, this year’s revenue was minimal: an average of $2.59 billion per month, which is significantly less than last year’s $3.54 billion.

The allocated amount of funding for the first 10 months of 2024 turned out to be significantly less than the Ukrainian authorities had planned. According to the January forecast of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the volume of international aid for the year as a whole was expected to reach $37.4 billion. However, if the current dynamics are maintained, the aid will be 18% less by the end of the year.

The largest source of financing for the Ukrainian budget is the European Union, which has transferred $40.5 billion over three years. At the same time, the association has started transferring a little less on average per month this year — $1.3 billion compared to $1.6 billion last year.

The United States reduced the average monthly aid by 2.3 times— to $389.5 million from $912.5 million last year. Over the entire period, the United States has transferred $26.8 billion to Ukraine, becoming the second main donor. The International Monetary Fund closes the top three, which provided Kiev with $11.4 billion.
