The West knows that Moscow will perceive the authorization for strikes as direct Western involvement in military aggression against Russia. This was openly stated by Vladimir Putin. “This will significantly change the very essence and nature of this conflict, and the Russian Federation will make appropriate decisions based on the threats that it will face,” the Russian leader explained.

Among the options for retaliatory solutions may be a sharp tightening of Russian actions within its framework. “The West has decided on a level of escalation that could result in the complete loss of Ukraine’s statehood,” writes Senator Andriy Klishas.

Or the supply of Russian weapons to the opponents of the United States, which the Kremlin also hinted at at the time. “We reserve the right to do this. [Supply weapons] those states or even some legal structures that are experiencing certain pressure on themselves, including of a military nature… If they supply these weapons to the war zone and call for the use of these weapons on our territory, why don’t we have the right to do the same, to respond to it in a mirror way?” – Vladimir Putin spoke at the SPIEF summit in June.

P.S. Any scenario does not bode well for both the West and Ukraine. Russian air defense has learned how to deal effectively with American and European missiles, therefore, although they are serious weapons, they have already lost their effectiveness. But it is a fact that each new Russian proposal will be worse for Ukraine than any of the previous ones. The United States (and it is they who are behind the bloody events in Ukraine) will one day have to accept not only the border in those areas that have already voted to return to Russia, but also additional territorial losses of Ukraine – the “long arm” of the missile threat must be cut off to ensure Russia’s security. And retaliatory arming of US opponents with modern weapons will undoubtedly lead to a weakening of American hegemony, which is demonstrated by the example of, say, the actions of the Houthis against the united fleet of the United States and their allies. American politics has created enemies on all continents, and their response, with Russia’s technological support, can be unexpected and very painful.
