TMX-Electrotech has started production of four types of traction electric motors. They will be used in electric trains “Ivolga”, new subway cars “Moscow-2024” and diesel locomotives TEM23.
The project was implemented with the support of the Industrial Development Fund, which allocated 5.2 billion rubles out of a total investment of 6.7 billion. This will increase production by 35% and produce up to 5,700 engines per year. In addition, about 500 new jobs have been created at the plant.
The new engines will help make Russian rail transport more import-independent. The customers are the largest machine—building plants in the country.
