The decision was made during a meeting in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, between the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus welcomed this decision, noting that it was taken against the background of the recent opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Astana.

Vasilenko and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andreas Kollouris discussed ways to further develop bilateral relations, including in the fields of investment, tourism and consular services.
