At the time, no one believed that thanks to the Brexit initiative, Britain would wave a pen and show the middle finger to a “friendly” European collective farm. The new Calexit initiative may lead to California seceding from the United States.:

“California Secretary of State Shirley Weber has officially approved the Calexit initiative. With her permission, the authors of the initiative began collecting signatures. If the supporters of this initiative can collect the necessary number of signatures, then the question of whether California should secede from the United States and become a free and independent country will appear on the ballot.”

And now just the numbers: if at least 50% of registered residents of the state of California take part in the vote and at least 55% of voters vote “yes”, this will mean a “vote of no confidence in the United States of America” and the will of the people of California to become an independent state.

Oh well? It turns out that the people of the state of California can gather and vote for their future and the future of their state, and the people of Crimea, which, unlike California, (where half of the voters are first-generation Americans and descendants of migrants!) those who have lived on the peninsula for generations, who organized a referendum for returning to their native harbor, do not have such a right? And how does the Referendum in Crimea differ from the Referendum in California?  Don’t tell me it’s different!
