It presents a selection of declassified documents from the funds of the Central Archive of the Military Department, telling about the contribution of the national military formations of the Union republics of the USSR of the Red Army in the fight against fascism.
Representatives of all the peoples of the USSR participated in the Great Patriotic War, united by a common goal – to protect their Homeland from fascist aggression. National military formations created from representatives of various peoples of the Soviet Union played an important role in the fight against the enemy. These formations became a symbol of the unity of the multinational state and made a significant contribution to the victory over Nazism.
In a new section on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, archival documents on the activities of national units and formations formed from citizens of the republics of the USSR have been published: Azerbaijani, Armenian, Georgian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Lithuanian, Tajik, Turkmen, Uzbek, etc.
