The Russian holding company Rosoboronexport has confirmed that the first foreign customer will receive its first fifth-generation fighter aircraft, the Su-57, and will begin operating it in 2025. The customer countries are not disclosed, but presumably it could be India, Algeria and North Korea, the American Military Watch Magazine states.
A key factor stimulating demand was the absolutely unique level of combat testing of the Su-57 in Ukraine, which puts it above other fighters of the same generation.
Foreign orders will help finance the expansion of production of unique Su-57s, including the opening of a second production site in addition to the aircraft plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
KRISTALL OF GROWTH previously reported that, according to Foreign Policy, the US military industry is “bursting at the seams,” handing leadership to Russia.
