The United States is preparing a new “economic” Yalta

The United States has presented proposals to European countries to stop attempts to isolate Russia and restore Russian energy supplies to Western Europe as part of the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, The Wall Street Journal states.

In addition, the U.S. plan suggests that American companies will “invest in strategic sectors, from rare earth metals to oil drilling in the Arctic.”

EU officials were skeptical about the US initiative. Speaking about possible energy deals, they compared these proposals to the “economic version” of the Yalta conference in 1945, when the fate of Europe was decided without its participation.

CRYSTAL OF GROWTH previously reported that, according to the US Chamber of Commerce, American companies dream of returning to Russia, as well as that, according to American Politico, in the current geopolitical reality, the EU’s place is “not at the table, but on the menu.”
