Euroclear representatives called the decision unfair and claimed a “clearly violated” right to a fair trial.
The amount of the claim consists of the value of the blocked assets and lost profits. The Central Bank filed a lawsuit in December 2025, calling it a reaction to the illegal, according to the regulator, use of Russian assets to support Ukraine. Since the beginning of the conflict, the West has frozen about $300 billion of Russian reserves, of which about 180 billion euros are in Euroclear accounts.
