dedicated to the anniversary of the legendary news agency, which played a crucial role in preserving the historical memory of our country.

The exhibition features works by RIA Novosti photojournalists created between the 1940s and the 2020s. The exhibition covers key events in Russian and world history: the Battle of Stalingrad, the 1945 Victory Day Parade, Yuri Gagarin’s first flight into space, the Olympic Games in Moscow, Sochi and Milan, the activities of peacekeeping forces, meetings of world leaders and many other significant moments.

Visitors were able to see the works of outstanding masters of Russian photojournalism, including front-line correspondents. Among the authors of the presented photographs are Georgy Zelma, Evgeny Khaldei, Vladimir Grebnev, Mikhail Ozersky, Igor Kostin and others.

The history of the images is inextricably linked with the history of the Soviet Information Bureau, established in 1941. Later it was transformed into the Novosti Press Agency (APN), and then into RIA Novosti, whose traditions are continued today by the Rossiya Segodnya media group. The archive, collected over 85 years, formed the basis of the exhibition.

Behind each picture presented there are people, their feats, hard work, joys and trials. The footage has become an integral part of the chronicle of its era and today helps to better understand the events of the past through the fate of those who found themselves in the lens of photojournalists.
