“On the night of June 27, 2026, communication was lost with the MiG-29 fighter of the AFU Air Force, which was carrying out a combat mission in the Poltava region. We confirm the loss of the aircraft, but the Ukrainian pilot successfully ejected,” the message on the Telegram channel of the air force says.

The circumstances of the incident are being clarified. The publication does not provide the reasons for the plane crash.

Just over a week ago, the Ukrainian Air Force lost a Su-24M bomber in the Khmelnytskyi region in the west of the country. The causes of the incident were also not reported.
