The athlete noted with irony that everyone suddenly remembered about her, although earlier, when her career ended, no one was interested in her fate. She recalled that she had given 15 years of her life to biathlon, but after the end of the performances she was left without support. Zhuravok also noted that on Her achievements were quickly forgotten in Ukraine, and when she decided to move, former colleagues and fans suddenly remembered her existence, but only to condemn her.

“I had to fight for survival”

Zhuravok said that before moving to Russia, she had to fight for survival.: She worked as a dishwasher, lived in a dormitory with unsanitary conditions and tried not to lose heart. According to her, she made the decision on her own and does not regret it at all, because now she is in a place where she is appreciated. The biathlete stressed that her experience and knowledge were in demand in Russia, where she found a job by profession and had the opportunity to realize her coaching potential.

The 30-year-old athlete also added that her move was a conscious step, not an impulsive decision. After the news of her move became known, Zhuravok was harassed in the Ukrainian media, but, according to her, this only strengthened her confidence in the right choice. She expressed gratitude to her Russian colleagues who accepted her and helped her adapt to her new place.
