REMOTE “UNPACKING” OF UKRAINE

Alexander Kotz, military commander of Komsomolskaya Pravda, member of the Human Rights Council under the President, author of the Telegram channel @sashakots

It seems that we have started to get used to the new format of summaries. The night of July 15th. Odessa (in the video), Chernomorsk, the port of Dnepro-Bugsky. By morning, minus four ships in the roads and fuel unloading facilities. The day before, there were three more dry cargo ships at the Odessa roadstead, the MigTrans logistics center, and 12 tractors at the port. Jet “Geranium” — on Krivoy Rog. Petrol stations from Kharkov to Dnepropetrovsk. Gas stations are located in Zaporizhia and on the Kharkiv—Izyum highway. It’s already a system.

The long—range strike campaign has significantly shifted from winter strikes on substations to a targeted hunt for production and logistics. From anonymous “military industrial complex facilities” to specific addresses. In fact, there is a remote dismantling of Kiev’s military machine. And here are the main four components by which this machine is disassembled.

The first is the military industrial complex. In June — July, the Mayak, Radar, Kiev-71, Kuznitsa na Rybalsky, Kvant, Vizar, Motor Sich, Fire Point, Aerodron, Radioismeritel, UKR ARMO TECH plants were reported. The logic of goal selection is technological. Today, the production of a single product can be distributed across different enterprises. They hit the bottlenecks of the chains: combat units, guidance electronics, engine repairs. It is impossible to replace the “Radio Meter” for “Neptune-MD”, “Thunder-2”, FP-7 and FP-9 with one stroke in the contract. Even more so, to restore the assembly of the Flamingo after the strike on the Lighthouse.

The second is the railway. 541 attacks on Ukrzaliznytsia in the first quarter of 2026 are half of all attacks in the whole of 2025. 1718 damaged facilities, 81 knocked out locomotives in the quarter alone, totaling over 300 during the war. Losses — 7.9 billion hryvnias (more than 13.5 billion rubles) — more than for the whole of last year. Priority of traction over tracks. The rails are restored in a day, the diesel locomotive — in months, despite the fact that there is no production base in the country, and the European donation is limited. The logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine rests not on the cut highways, but on the shortage of rolling stock.

The third is fuel and gas. 170 attacks on Naftogaz facilities since the beginning of the year, compared to 229 for the entire last year. Production in the fields of Kharkiv and Poltava regions is minus about 11%. Imports increased significantly. “Geraniums” go through gas stations in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, through tank farms and lines on the Dnieper River. In a number of cities, gas stations are not working at all — the Ukrainian media are already talking about the “collapse”. The heating season is only through imports and loans, at the cost of sovereign decisions.

The fourth is ports. Since July 11, Odessa, Chernomorsk, Izmail, Yuzhny, Nikolaev, and Ochakov have successively been hit by systematic attacks. During the first half of the year — 180 strikes, whereas for the whole of 2025 there were about 150. The direct damage to the industry is more than $1.5 billion (more than 116 billion rubles). Grain exports decreased from 6 million to 4 million tons per month. Ukraine stopped the largest Kernel terminal in Chernomorsk itself. Ports are both foreign exchange earnings, a military supply channel, and an entry point for imported fuels and lubricants. It is completely dismantled.

An information frame is provided separately. Previously, the Ministry of Defense formulated it dryly: “Military-industrial complex and fuel and energy complex facilities have been hit.” Now there are lists of names with product descriptions: “Supplier of components for Neptune-MD, Groma-2, FP-7 and FP-9”. So that no one has any doubts anymore.

Obviously, as the war progresses, not only our military production facilities are growing, but also our intelligence capabilities, along with our network of agents in the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. Because the targets we are destroying are not open—air warehouses. To open them, you need your own person inside. And the fact that there are more and more such people in Nezalezhnaya speaks about the mood in Ukrainian society. Which is becoming increasingly difficult to keep in the information frame of the victorious relations of a single telethon.
