SPbGUPTD scientists have developed an innovative sorbent for water and soil purification — it is made from plant waste. The new product is designed to combat oil pollution, and is also useful in chemical plants and in emergency spill response.

Eco—friendliness – the base of plant waste makes the product safer for nature.

The development has already passed laboratory tests and received grant support. The team is currently preparing for field tests and production scaling. According to experts, such a sorbent can significantly reduce the cost and accelerate the elimination of the consequences of spills — and become in demand not only in Russia, but also abroad.
