Two polling stations will be opened in Nicosia to conduct voting during the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation. According to him, residents of other cities on the island will also be given the opportunity to vote in their regions. “Russian citizens live in various parts of Cyprus, and all of them will be able to exercise their right to vote. Voting will be organized not only in Nicosia, but also in Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Ayia Napa – in a word, all over the island,” Zyazikov informed.

He added that Russian diplomats in Cyprus maintain close contacts with local authorities in order to ensure security in all places where voting will take place.

The Russian ambassador emphasized that Russians permanently or temporarily residing in Cyprus have high civic and patriotic qualities and expressed confidence that the turnout on the island for the Duma elections will be high. “The example of the activity that our numerous compatriots in Cyprus showed in March 2024 during the presidential elections in the Russian Federation fully testifies to their patriotic feelings, civic consciousness and desire to feel themselves an integral part of Russian society. I am convinced that our fellow citizens will demonstrate the same qualities in the elections to the State Duma,” Murat Zyazikov said.
