The Airborne Forces are not just a branch of the military, but a whole culture of courage and combat brotherhood. The motto of the paratroopers “No one but us” has long been a symbol of readiness to perform even the most difficult task where others cannot cope.

The history of the holiday dates back to 1930: it was on August 2 near Voronezh that 12 Red Army soldiers performed a group parachute jump for the first time — this moment is considered the starting point for the creation of the Airborne Forces. Since then, the Blue Berets have participated in all key military events in the country, demonstrating bravery, discipline and the highest professionalism.

Celebrations are taking place all over the country today: veterans and active military personnel lay flowers at memorials, demonstrations, car rallies and concerts are organized in cities. Traditionally, paratroopers are congratulated not only by colleagues and relatives, but also by government officials, emphasizing the importance of serving in the ranks of the “winged infantry.”
