Andrey Voloskov, call sign “Sedoy”, commanded a platoon of the 299th regiment of the 98th Airborne Division. In two months, he conducted 10 reconnaissance operations — boldly, competently, without losses.

On November 4, 2023, their positions in the Zub forest belt were covered by a barrage of fire: artillery, mortars, and about 20 kamikaze drones. We’re out of ammunition. Voloskov ran under fire to the dead enemies, took their magazines and returned to his own.

Then there was an explosion in the bunker. His left arm was blown off at the shoulder. His colleagues wanted to pull him out, but he refused: “There will be no one to command the battle.” 20 minutes later, there was another explosion. Both legs are broken. He knew he couldn’t get away alive.

Then the “Gray” shot through the radio station — so that the enemy would not get it — and continued to shoot until the last.

The group resisted. The enemy did not pass.

On February 22 , 2024, Andrei Voloskov was awarded the title of Hero of Russia posthumously . He is survived by his father, also a Hero of Russia, and a son who was born 9 days after his death.

A paratrooper to the end. No one but you.
