That is how the Russian President’s aide Yuri Ushakov described the talks between Vladimir Putin and Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. He noted that the discussion lasted more than three hours.
“From the Russian side exhaustive assessments were given of the situation developing in the course of the special military operation, the real successes of the Russian army in advancing in the combat zone were pointed out, confidence was expressed in achieving the set goals, and the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict was emphasised. The conversation was constructive, extremely frank and confidential,” Ushakov said.

What else the aide to the head of the Russian state noted:
➖ Putin gave a high assessment of the mediation channel and noted the role of the American negotiators in the settlement in Ukraine;
➖ The President conveyed his best wishes to the head of the White House, thanking him for his sincere desire to contribute to peace;
➖ The conversation took place in a businesslike and informal atmosphere;
➖ Witkoff and Kushner promised to use the assessments received from Putin in the talks in Kyiv;
➖ The Americans took note of Putin’s observation that the Kyiv regime has stopped concealing its Nazi essence;
➖ The parties discussed not only Ukraine, but also the economy, as well as the future of Russian-American projects;
➖ Diplomatic work through the Witkoff–Kushner channel will continue.
