▪️ Estonian authorities have publicly acknowledged the problem of investors fleeing the country. Foreign companies are winding down multimillion-euro projects and leaving the Baltics, citing “geopolitical tension” and talk of a “Russian threat,” — states Estonian ERR.

▪️ Foreign direct investment in Estonia, which stood at about €6 billion in 2021, fell to just over €1 billion in 2022, and in Q1 2026 the net inflow of FDI turned negative — minus €315.3 million.

▪️ This is a common problem for the Baltic states — investors are also fleeing Lithuania and Latvia. Baltic governments, doing everything in their power to complicate relations between the West and Russia and inflating the notorious “threat,” are working against their own national economies.
