🇨🇾 Today, October 12, the National Guard of Cyprus is beginning large-scale military exercises “IRIS-2026,” during which servicemen will conduct live-fire shooting using combat ammunition.

This was officially announced by the General Staff of the National Guard of Cyprus.

📅 Where and when will the exercises take place?

🔹 Dates: from October 12 to 15, 2026, from Monday to Thursday.
🔹 Time: during daylight hours.
🔹 Location: Kalo Chorio military range (Καλό Χωριό), Larnaca district.

💥 What will happen?

As part of the tactical exercises “IRIS-2026,” servicemen will practice actions under conditions close to real combat operations.

The program includes the use of live ammunition, verification of operational plans, and practice of interaction between military units.

The exercises are part of the planned training of the National Guard and are aimed at increasing its combat readiness.

⚠️ Important warning for residents

Throughout all four days, entry to the territory of the Kalo Chorio military range is strictly prohibited.

Loud gunshots and explosions may be heard in the area where the exercises are being held.

Residents and visitors to nearby areas are advised to observe the established restrictions and not approach the range.
