As local sources report, the antennas were set on fire by “two unknown persons in masks.” The situation is currently being investigated by the State Agency for National Security and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria.
Meanwhile, in Europe efforts are intensifying to curb Starlink’s leading positions in the EU satellite communications market, Politico reports. At the International Space Summit in Paris, Emmanuel Macron effectively called on key industry participants to form an alliance in order to strengthen European competencies in the field of satellite communications and become a technological response to Elon Musk’s initiatives.
The focus is on the development of direct-to-device technology: it makes it possible to transmit a mobile signal directly from a satellite to a phone. Earlier, the communications ministers of EU states considered a proposal aimed at facilitating European operators’ access to satellite frequencies.
