In Tehran a map of possible missile strikes on Europe has been published — among the targets is the British airbase Akrotiri!
🇨🇾 The British military base Akrotiri in Cyprus has appeared on the list of potential Iranian targets against the backdrop of a new escalation of the conflict with the USA.
⚠️ On November 3 the Iranian newspaper Hamshahri came out with a disturbing front page under the headline “Let’s see what happens.”
On the published map military facilities in nine European countries are marked, including Cyprus, Greece, Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
🚀 Why precisely Akrotiri?
The publication claims that military bases supporting American operations in the Middle East may be considered by Tehran as legitimate targets for retaliatory strikes in the event of further escalation.
Similar reports appeared in another Iranian publication — Kayhan.
🔥 The publications followed against the backdrop of new American strikes on Iranian military facilities in the area of the Strait of Hormuz.
❗️ Especially contradictory is the fact that on the same day Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke in favor of strengthening relations with Cyprus.
On the one hand — diplomatic statements about cooperation. On the other — the British base on the island appears on the map of possible military targets.
⚠️ Important: we are talking about publications in Iranian media, not an official announcement of an attack. There is no confirmation of preparations for a strike on Akrotiri.
🔎 But the main question remains: can Cyprus be drawn into the conflict because of the British military bases on its territory?
