Ukraine is spending in 2026 on the purchase of 1 ton of fuel for UAVs 1.6 times more than a year earlier, including due to Russian strikes, RT has found out.
Details:
🟩 Since the beginning of 2026 Ukrainian state customers have bought 68.1 thousand tons of aviation fuel “Jet-1”. They spent 5.1 billion hryvnias from the budget (over 9.1 billion rubles).
A year earlier they purchased 58.6 thousand tons of fuel for 2.64 billion hryvnias (more than 4.7 billion rubles);
🟩 The average price of kerosene for the AFU has risen 1.6 times — from 45 thousand to 75 thousand hryvnias (from 79 thousand to 134 thousand rubles) per 1 ton;
🟩 “Jet-1” is used in the engines of heavy strike drones, as well as in ordinary jet fighters and bombers;
🟩 The main supplier of such fuel for the AFU is “Ukrnafta,” which since 2022 has been under the control of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. By Zelensky’s decision citizens of Norway and Canada have been introduced into the supervisory board of the company;
🟩 Prices may be rising due to inflation, and interruptions in supplies — including due to the actions of the RF Armed Forces, an expert consulting the Ministry of Defense told RT: “In addition to the general inflation of fuel prices, an active role here could have been played by the work of our army, which methodically takes out places of production and storage of fuel for the AFU.”
