NATO Secretary General proposed that Ukraine make concessions

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte allowed that Ukraine will have to make territorial concessions for the sake of a peace agreement with the RF. He doubted that Kyiv will be able to regain the lost territories, while Vladimir Putin called for resolving the conflict through negotiations taking into account the realities on the ground.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte pointed out that within the framework of the settlement of the conflict with the RF Ukraine will need to make territorial concessions.

“Such wars always end with a peace agreement, and that is often a compromise,” he stated on the air of the Dutch television channel NPO 1, doubting Ukraine’s ability to regain the lost territories.

As President of the RF Vladimir Putin stated on 1 October at the meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, Moscow intends to end the conflict as soon as possible through negotiations. The head of state called on Kyiv and its Western sponsors to make decisions based on “the realities taking shape on the ground.”
