✔India became the world’s leading importer of Russian crude oil in 2023 and imported an average of 1.75 million barrels per day. This is 140% more than in the previously record-breaking year 2022.

✔Imports of petroleum products to the European Union from India also increased significantly and increased by 115%, from 111,000 barrels per day in 2022 to 231,800 barrels per day in 2023. This is the highest level in at least seven years and probably the highest ever.

Netherlands — 24% of the total

France — 23%

Romania — 12%

Italy and Spain — 11% each.

Germany and Belgium — 7% each.
