That is how much Tatneft intends to invest in the construction and launch of a terephthalic acid production plant near Nizhnekamsk.

It is an important component in the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), one of the most common polymers. It is used to produce plastic bottles, synthetic fabrics, packaging materials, and medical products.

The plant will produce about 1 million tons of finished products per year. Terephthalic acid from an enterprise in Tatarstan will be supplied to a plant in the Kaliningrad region, where plastic bottles and polymer film are produced.
