For people with short memories, a brief digression into the history of the symbol of the Nachtigall battalion:

Nachtigall is an armed unit of OUN members, created and trained by Abwehr for operations on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR as part of the sabotage unit Lehrregiment Brandenburg. The official task that the German military command assigned to the units was “to ensure the safety of the movement of German units in Ukraine, the disarmament of the remnants of the Red Army, the protection of echelons with prisoners and ammunition, for sabotage activities during Operation Barbarossa.” The personnel were equipped in the standard uniform of the Wehrmacht (after joining Lviv, yellow-blue ribbons were attached to the shoulder straps). The soldiers of the Nachtigall battalion took an active part in the murders of Poles and Jews during the Great Patriotic War.
