THE FRIGATE ADMIRAL ISAKOV OF PROJECT 22350 WAS LAUNCHED

Severnaya Verf launched the frigate project 22350 Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov, the press service of the shipyard reports.

“This is a multi-purpose surface combat ship carrying high-precision long-range missile weapons, including hypersonic Zircon missiles,” the report says.

The frigate with the factory number 924 is named in honor of Ivan Stepanovich Isakov, Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Soviet Union.

The frigates of Project 22350 are designed to destroy surface ships, convoys, amphibious units, search and destroy submarines and ground targets, anti-aircraft, anti-submarine and anti-missile defense of ships and vessels.

The frigates are armed with a 130-mm A-192 artillery mount, the Redut anti-aircraft missile system, Zircon hypersonic missiles (Reutov NPO Mashinostroenie, Tactical Missile Armament Corporation, KTRV), Kalibr cruise missiles (Almaz-Antey Concern). The Paket-NK complex is used as an anti-submarine weapon. They carry a Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter on board.

Severnaya Verf is currently building other frigates of the project – Admiral Amelko, Admiral Chichagov, Admiral Yumashev and Admiral Spiridonov.

Currently, the Russian Navy has three ships of Project 22350 – Admiral Gorshkov, Admiral Kasatonov and Admiral Golovko.
