▪️ At present, memoranda on the use of the ITC “North–South” have been signed with Iran, Bahrain, Afghanistan and Oman. Similar documents with Qatar and Saudi Arabia are being prepared for signing, the Russian Ministry of Transport states. ▪️ Countries of the Persian Gulf and Southeast Asia are showing interest in connecting their port capacities. Routes are being developed towards Pakistan, as well as through Afghanistan — in conjunction with the Trans-Afghan railway project. ▪️ The length of the ITC “North–South” is 7.2 thousand kilometres. The route includes railway, road and sea transport; it connects Russia with Iran, as well as other Persian Gulf countries and India. The ITC is designed to significantly accelerate and reduce the cost of cargo delivery.

“CRYSTAL OF GROWTH” previously reported that the development and implementation of a new spatial development strategy, taking into account the tasks of large-scale development of Russia’s territory, the accelerated development of infrastructure and the creation of new international transport corridors on the Eurasian continent, have been proposed among the long-term priorities of state activity.
