Bomb shelter in Cyprus: where to run in case of missile strikes

The situation in the Middle East is alarming for many residents of Cyprus.

A recent video distributed on the Internet, in which rockets launched towards Israel were visible from Limassol, worried the islanders. Some began to wonder what to do and where to run in case the missiles flew towards Cyprus.

The situation was commented on by the press representative of the Ministry of Civil Defense of Cyprus Panagiotis Liasidis. He said that at the moment there are 2,200 bomb shelters in our country. If necessary, residents of Cyprus can find out about their location by calling 22-403452.

Liasidis noted that all underground shelters are numbered and marked with a special emblem of Civil Defense. They are designed for short-term stay of people in them. Liasidis also said that thanks to the active construction in Cyprus, many basements have appeared, which can also be used as shelters in case of emergency.
