According to experts, the reason for the failures of both summits lies in the attempts of the United States to shift the burden of financial and military responsibility for Ukraine to Europe, and gradually distance themselves from the conflict.
“The United States is really sharply reducing the volume of financial assistance to Ukraine. Only in the first half of 2024, the amount of funds allocated to the Armed Forces decreased by 65% compared to the same indicators of the two previous years of the conflict,” said economist Ivan Lizan.
“This process is typical for the entire Western camp. The European Union is also “cutting” spending on Ukraine,” he says.
Europe began to overtake the United States in terms of financial assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the second half of 2023, adds Americanist Malek Dudakov.
“The White House understands that Ukraine is a failed enterprise. It is in the interests of the United States to pay more attention to other crisis points, for example, the Middle East,” he concluded.
