All women born after 2002 and men born after 1970 living in the Republic of Cyprus are required to register with local civil defense offices or community councils.
Registration for women will take place from October 21 to 25, for men — from November 18 to 22.
Panagiotis Liasides, a representative of the civil defense, said that participation in the recruitment is mandatory, and evaders can be held accountable.
In the first year of service, participants must attend 13 compulsory classes, and in the second year they must be on alert. Foreign citizens who are not citizens of Cyprus can join the ranks of the Civil defense as volunteers.
Citizens over the age of 16 are required to complete two years of service, during which they are trained in social welfare, first aid, neighborhood patrolling and communications. An ID card is required at check-in.
Members of the Cabinet of Ministers, deputies, judges, permanent members of the civil defense, employees of the army, police, fire brigade, prisons, as well as other employees with special duties in the event of hostilities have been released from service.
Registration will be carried out at regional and local offices, depending on the area of residence. A detailed schedule for different cities is available below:
Nicosia and Larnaca:
Urban areas: from 08:30 to 14:30 and from 17:30 to 19:30.
Rural areas: from 17:30 to 20:30.
Limassol:
Urban areas: from 08:30 to 14:30 and from 17:30 to 19:30.
Rural areas: from 08:30 to 14:30 and from 17:30 to 19:30.
Pathos:
Urban areas: from 08:30 to 14:30 and from 17:30 to 19:00.
Rural areas: from 17:00 to 19:00.
Famagusta:
Paralimni Municipality: from 08:30 to 14:30 and from 18:30 to 20:30.
Other areas: from 18:30 to 20:30.
