The production of titanium alloy powders for 3D printing by selective laser melting has begun at the Chepetsk Mechanical Plant in Glazov. The new material completely replaces imported analogues and is made from its own raw materials with a fraction of 20-63 microns.

The plant’s production facilities cover current and future needs, and the Russian industry is fully supplied with titanium wire for 3D printers. By 2030, the volume of the metal powder market in the country may reach 80 tons per year.

The plant plans to expand its product range, including unique heat-resistant steels and nickel and cobalt-based alloys.
