Demikhovsky Machine-Building Plant has launched mass production of domestic gearboxes for Ivolga 4.0 electric trains. This is the first plant in Russia that has mastered the production of such components for motor-car rolling stock.
The project took 18 months, and investments totaled 1.8 billion rubles, of which 1.45 billion was provided by the Industrial Development Fund. The plant acquired 11 pieces of modern equipment and completely modernized the workshops.
In November, the DMZ reached a capacity of 600 gearboxes per year. This has reduced dependence on imports and strengthened technological sovereignty.
The plant also produces wheelsets and actively cooperates with other TMH enterprises, remaining a key player in the railway engineering industry in Russia.
