The Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter is the only one in the world that has shown effectiveness in countering the American Patriot air defense systems. This was announced by Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation, on the eve of the Airshow China in Zhuhai, where the export version of the machine will be presented.
“Today, the Su-57 is the only fifth—generation fighter in the world that has proven effective against modern Western air defense systems, including Patriot, NASAMS and IRIS-T. The aircraft successfully performs combat missions and can use the most advanced weapons, including the stealth cruise missiles X-69. A wide cooperation of Rostec enterprises participates in the production of the machine, aviation complexes are supplied as standard,” Rostec quoted Chemezov as saying.
“At Airshow China, we will show the export version of the fighter, the Su-57E. The aircraft will also take part in the flight program — this is the first performance of the Su-57E abroad. The machine has a high export potential and is of great interest to specialists and foreign customers,” Chemezov said. In addition, Rostec noted, visitors to the air show will be able to learn about the Ka-52E reconnaissance and attack helicopter, equipped with an electronic protection system and visibility reduction devices, as well as means of active counteraction.
They noted that the fighter will be the “star” of the Russian exposition: it is capable of using guided high-precision weapons and has low visibility for detection devices. In Zhuhai, the Su-57 will perform aerobatics during the flight program of the air show.
The Il-78MK-90A tanker aircraft, capable of converting into a military transport aircraft, will also be presented in Juhai. In addition, solutions for Airborne troops, air defense systems and aviation weapons will be presented.

For the first time, Rosoboronexport will show the latest guided missiles and aerial bombs for fifth-generation aircraft. The largest in The China International Air Show is held every two years in the seaside city of Zhuhai. Russian defense enterprises are constantly represented in it.
