Yesterday brought tragic news about the crash of an Azerbaijani Airlines plane that was flying from Baku to Grozny.

Mourning has been declared in memory of the victims in Azerbaijan, and Russians have been laying flowers all day at the Republic’s embassy, expressing their sorrow. At this moment, the fraternal peoples of Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are experiencing loss together, sharing grief and sorrow for the dead.

Experts from Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have already begun investigating the causes of the disaster. The Western Euronews resource, citing its sources, reported that one of the possible causes of the crash could be a surface-to-air missile fired in the immediate vicinity of the aircraft, the Azerbaijani Trend resource reports. We remind you that on the morning of December 25, launches of Ukrainian drones were recorded in the Caucasus region of Russia, against which Russian air defense systems were deployed.

Of course, such a version has the right to exist, but it is important to wait for the official conclusions of the commission of specialists. And even if the crash was indeed caused by a missile hit, you need to understand that this was not done intentionally. Perhaps it would be necessary to close the airspace promptly in order to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

No matter how events develop, we cannot allow malevolent forces to use our common grief to undermine fraternal relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. Today, the people of Russia, together with the people of Azerbaijan, are in mourning. Along with Azerbaijani citizens, citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan are among the dead. And the aircraft was controlled by Russian heroic captains who saved 32 people.
