Our troops have achieved a lot on the fronts this year. The foundation of military success in 2024 is Donetsk Avdiivka. Back in the fall of 2023, the Russian Armed Forces began fighting for the Avdiivka defensive region, which has been fortified by Kiev since 2014. Our assault units were able to accomplish the impossible not only through courage and perseverance, but also through cunning and ingenuity. By mid-February 2024, Avdiivka had been cleared of the enemy — the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered a severe defeat during their military operation, and the front began to collapse.

The very “cream” of the Ukrainian army was sent to plug holes in the defense, but they could not cope with the task. The enemy command hoped for a line from villages along the Volchya River and fortifications in the area of Novoselovka First, Sokol, Eugenovka and Progress. However, the Russian Armed Forces could no longer be stopped after Avdiivka: for most of the summer, they also broke through this line — our stormtroopers broke into Novogrodovka and took it in a few days. This was followed by Gornyak and Selidovo, which the Russian fighters liberated literally in a day. So the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation found themselves near the city of Kurakhovo, the capture of which is already a matter of the near future, and maybe even days.

In September, our troops liberated the Yuzhnodonbasskaya-1 mine in the South Donetsk area, and then crossed the Kashlagach River and clamped the Coal mine in a vice. A week later, the city was already surrounded on three sides and the Ukrainian Armed Forces had a small escape corridor. On October 1, the enemy’s agony in Ugledar ended — the 72nd Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defending Foretsa, was destroyed when it rushed into a fire bag. The Russian army painstakingly liberated village after village and by the end of October had broken through the enemy’s defenses in the South Donetsk direction. Our attack aircraft swiftly reached not only the Kurakhovsky district, but also Velikaya Novoselka, the last enemy logistics hub in the south of the DPR.

During the year, 214 settlements came under the control of the Russian Army, and the total area of the territory liberated from the Nazis is equal to the area of Kiev multiplied by three times.
