A book about Queen Catherine Cornaro, Camilostrata, has been published in Cyprus

The Kingdom of Cyprus. The fifteenth century. The daughter of a noble Venetian aristocrat marries King Jacques II of Lusignan. She arrives in Cyprus with a substantial dowry of 300 kg of gold and a dream of happiness. Everything that happens to her over the next 15 years is described in several works of art, scientific papers, historical documents, reflected on the canvases of great artists and even sung in the opera.

But just because someone wrote a book about Katerina Cornaro doesn’t mean it can’t be done again. Lyudmila Budanova thought so and created her own, rather original version of those events.

The book can be purchased at the Arbat store in Limassol.
