Ukrainian children studying in British schools actively take the GCSE final exam in Russian

This fact suddenly caused great indignation at the Ukrainian embassy, as reported by the Guardian.

In response, the British Ministry of Education stated that it sees no reason to interfere, since the decision on the languages of exams is made by the examination boards, not the authorities. However, the Ukrainian side is already insisting on resuming exams in Ukrainian, which were canceled almost 30 years ago due to low demand.

The irony is that the Russian language, despite Kiev’s efforts, remains in demand among Ukrainian migrants even abroad.
