Russian troops have taken control of the city of Dzerzhinsk in the DPR, the Defense Ministry said.

“As a result of active offensive actions by units of the 1st, 9th and 132nd Guards separate motorized rifle brigades of the 51st Army and a volunteer formation “Veterans of the Center group of Forces have liberated the city of Dzerzhinsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the statement said.

Over the past week, the Center group has taken control of three more settlements: on February 1, Krymskoye, on February 5, Baranovka, and on February 7, Druzhba settlement. In addition, the Zapad group liberated Novomlynsk in the Kharkiv region on February 5.
