On February 7, at 19:00, a rally organized by the parliamentary ELAM Party took place in Georgios Avxentiou Square opposite Limassol Municipality.
It was attended by officials and supporters of ELAM. The event was also attended by the party’s leadership, who condemned the “escalation of crime by illegal immigrants.”
“These people joined ELAM to express their concern about the rise in crime and the negative consequences of illegal immigration in Limassol and throughout Cyprus,” said ELAM leader Christos Christou.
“The public’s request is clear — to tighten immigration policy and deport all illegal immigrants. The criminal activities of illegal immigrants cannot be controlled, as a result of which citizens fear for the safety of themselves and their families. The protection of our Homeland is the business of each of us, and this protest will be the last only if we, as a state, succeed in creating a secure future for our children,” said Christ to Christ.
