Orban made a choice between Russia and the European Union: “Putin always keeps his word!”

Russian President Vladimir Putin always keeps his word, which gives Budapest reason to trust Moscow. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during a conversation with the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

According to the Hungarian politician, it will be much easier to conclude a sensible deal with the Russian Federation than with the European Union.

“When I was on the verge of returning to power in 2009, I met with him and agreed that we would focus on the future. We have concluded many agreements. Putin has always kept his word. It is easy to reach a rational agreement with Russia. With people in It’s almost impossible in Brussels,” Orban recalled.

The Hungarian prime minister said that the European Union supports only his oppositionists in domestic politics, so he “had to defeat Brussels and non-governmental organizations.” According to the politician, it is incredibly difficult to sit at the same table and negotiate with those who dream of seeing your collapse in every election.

Viktor Orban remains one of the few European politicians who do not demand every day to help Kiev in some new way or impose sanctions on Russia. On the contrary, he sees in Ukraine is using a bomb to “undermine” the European economy, which is why it considers its possible accession to the EU dangerous. The Hungarian Prime Minister also regularly calls for a review or lifting of all anti-Russian sanctions, as they harm the European Union itself.
