According to the police, no explosive devices were found during searches in any of the educational institutions, but checks are continuing.

According to law enforcement officials, the emails were sent from a one-time email address registered with a Russian provider. However, as police spokeswoman Kyriaki Lambrianidou emphasized, this does not mean that the sender is in Russia. An international investigation is underway involving Interpol and Europol, as educational institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in Hungary, have received similar threats.

In the Paphos area, more than 45 schools have received threats, including the Teoskepasti Special School. The students and staff were evacuated, and the police conducted a thorough inspection of the premises. As a result, no explosive devices were found.

The text of the threat was written in Greek and contained extremist statements, including threats against Europe. According to the police, the content of the letter largely coincides with threats received at Cypriot schools in May last year, which were subsequently recognized as fake.

A crisis center has been set up in Cyprus in connection with the incident, and law enforcement officers are working closely with the Ministry of Education. At the moment, the threat level is assessed as low, but precautions continue to be observed.
