The PD-8 dual-circuit turbofan engine was created at the ODK-Saturn enterprise using the latest domestic materials and advanced technologies, including 3D printing. The engine is presented at the NAIS Civil Aviation Infrastructure Exhibition in Moscow.
Only a few countries in the world are capable of building their own aircraft engines, and Russia is one of them. The main novelty presented at the NAS was the PD-8. In the near future, the PD-8 will take to the air for the first time as part of the passenger SJ-100 for the final stage — flight tests,” Rostec said.
The PD-14 engine for the MC-21 medium-haul passenger aircraft and the TV7-117 ST-01 engine for the IL-114-300 turboprop regional aircraft are also on display at the exhibition.
