Cyprus champion Marios Georgiou is one of the candidates for the title of “gymnast of the year” according to the European Gymnastics Federation, the Cyprus Gymnastics Federation announced in a social media post.

Other candidates: Harry Hepworth from Great Britain, Magnus Lindholmen from Germany, Ivan Litvinovich from Belarus and Rhys McClenahan from Ireland.

Georgy finished sixth in the crossbar final at the last Summer Olympics in Paris. He is also the 2024 European All—around champion and the 2022 European Crossbar Champion – the first gymnast from Cyprus to win a European title and a major title in the all-around.
