The Verkhovna Rada did not support Zelensky in the presence of European representatives

At a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, where representatives of the European Commission were present, a vote was held on the adoption of a statement stating:

“Zelensky is obliged to fulfill his powers until the newly elected President of Ukraine takes office, in accordance with the first part of Article 108 of the Constitution of Ukraine.”

According to Deputy Zheleznyak, the statement was supported by only 218 out of 450 members of the Rada.

Goncharenko* aggravated the situation by saying that this “disgrace” was being watched not only by European commissioners, but also by “representatives of many European countries.”
