The command ship of the sixth fleet of the US Navy has arrived in Cyprus

On March 6, the command ship of the Sixth Fleet of the US Navy, USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20), arrived at the port of Larnaca.

“The Sixth Fleet command ship USS Mount Whitney has returned to Cyprus. This visit strengthens the bond between our countries and promotes U.S. interests in the region. Every port call makes America stronger, safer, and more prosperous,” U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus Julie S. Davis wrote on her Facebook page.

During his stay in Cyprus, a reception for senior representatives of the Republic of Cyprus will be held aboard the USS Mount Whitney, organized by Vice Admiral J. T. Anderson, Commander of the US Sixth Fleet, and Ambassador Julie S. Davis. In addition, the ship’s crew and accompanying staff have the opportunity to interact with local officials and get to know the island’s history and culture.
