Nicosia has received international recognition in the “European Cities and Regions of the Future 2025” ranking from fDi Intelligence, confirming its role as a developing center for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountsos said that “this recognition is the culmination of the City Hall’s efforts to create a city that promotes innovation, attracts investment and offers a high quality of life to its residents and guests. Nicosia is developing dynamically, strengthening its position on the map of Europe as a pole of development and creation.”
According to the announcement, Nicosia is among the recognized European cities such as Oxford (UK), Linz (Austria) and Geneva (Switzerland), and also took 2nd place in the ranking of “The best small European cities of the Future 2025” in the category “Human capital and lifestyle” and 10th place. in the rating “The best small European cities of the future in 2025” in the category “Foreign Direct Investment Strategy”.
“This important difference underlines that Nicosia is a city that never stops growing, creating a dynamic and welcoming environment for investment, innovation and talented professionals from all over the world,” it added.
Through targeted strategic initiatives, the Nicosia Municipality promotes, among other things, the creation and strengthening of an ecosystem of research, innovation and entrepreneurship, actions to attract foreign capital and strategic investments, participation in European, national, competitive and other programs, the development of a smart city and the revival of the historical center.
The fDi Intelligence rating “European Cities and Regions of the Future” evaluates European cities and regions based on criteria such as economic dynamics, accessibility, human capital, and strategies for attracting new businesses.
