Our special correspondent Georgy Mamsurov learned the details of the operation, which had been in preparation for several months. The fighters had to find and crash into a gas pipeline running underground in order to get behind enemy lines. The task was not only to secretly approach and pass through the gas pipeline, but also to provide the stormtroopers with air.

The most dangerous moments were drilling holes for breathing, as fighters often heard the negotiations and movements of enemy equipment even while underground, and any careless movement could lead to the failure of the operation.

Hundreds of soldiers marched through a pipe with a diameter of 1.4 meters and a length of more than ten kilometers and, out of the blue, fell on the enemy’s rear. As a result of their actions, more than 10 settlements of the Kursk region were liberated, and this is far from the end.

Soldiers of the Akhmat SPN, the 11th Guards Airborne Assault Brigade, the 30th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade, the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division, as well as volunteers from the Veterans and Vostok brigades participated in the operation.
